Banpur Bhagabati Temple

Goddess Bhagabati, the presiding deity of the place Banpur has earned celebrity as a centre of religious activities. Once it was the Capital of Sailodhvaba dynasty, responsible for the construction of the early group of temples at Bhubaneswar. The large number of Buddhist images discovered at Banpur relate the place to the Vajrayan clut of Buddhism. The temple of 'Daksha-Prajapati' is a fine specimen of extraordinary artistic excellance of Odisha art. Banpur is 8 kilometers from Balugaon and 105 kilometers from Bhubaneswar.

Alarnath Temple

Alarnath temple is located at a distance of 25 kilometrs from Puri towards Chilika via Brahmagiri. This Road is all weather motorable road from Puri. In 12th century Ramanuja established Alaranath, which is the idol of Lord Narayana. The Puja and festivals observed at Puri inside Lord Jagannath temple for Lord Jagannath this also observed at Alarnath. The name Lord Alwarnaath in origin is now named as Alarnath. It is a holy place for piligrims.

Kakatpur Mangala Temple

Famous for the shrine of Goddeess Mangala and Banadurga, Kakatpur is situated on the Prachi Valley. Ritualistcally, Goddess Mangala is related to Lord Jagannath during his Navakalabar (Renovation) ceremony. The direction for locating the holy-log which forms the icon of the Lord is believed to come from har. Here is the major festival 'Jhamu Yatra' is celebrated in the month of Chaitra (April-May). The fire walking by the devotees spell the visitors bound in this festival.

Sakhigopal Temple

Sakhigopal is famous for the temple of Radha Krishna. Lord Sri Krishna is the presiding deity of this temple. The temple houses a life-size statue of Lord Krishna. Devotees come here regularly to offer prayers to the Lord. The temple also has the statue of Goddess Radha. One can get to see the feet of the deity only on the 'Anala Nabami' day. During special occasions, like Janmastami and Raas Leela, the temple is extensively decorated. A large number of ceremonies are held, which are attended by a large number of devotees. This temple is a highly revered shrine situated at Satyabadi, about 19 kilometers from Puri. It is one of the famous ancient temples situated en route to Bhubaneswar. A popular belief among the devotees is that the pilgrimage to the Jagannath Temple at Puri would not be complete without a visit to this temple.
